In 12 years that I have been fitting I have had to debunk my share of bra myths. There is a lot of great bra information out there but there is also a lot of bra nonsense that is keeping many women from a more comfortable fit. So, how many of these bra fit 'facts' are actually real and which ones are untrue? (I will post the answers in the comments in a couple of days!)
- Your bra band should be parallel with the ground.
- Band Size is not important.
- After you measure round your ribcage you should add 4 inches to find your band size
- All bras in your size will fit you
- You should wash your bra after every wear
- Sleep in a bra to keep your breasts from sagging
- The gore should lie flat against your body between your breasts
- Straps falling off your shoulders is a normal part of wearing a bra
- The direction of the seams on a cup changes the shape of the look of your bust
- A really good bra will last forever
- Sports bras are not necessary
- Your bra size does not change that often
There are many, many more but if you can sort the facts from the myths in this list then you've got a good handle on what a good bra fit is!
